Cureton is currently seeking an experienced Corporate Development professional to develop and execute on corporate strategy with a particular focus on M&A and structured transactions. Are you a data driven “facts freak” with a scientific approach to problem solving with a particular knack for strategy and forward thinking? Essential job functions and responsibilities include the following:

  • Research and develop a comprehensive strategy and investment theses in the various segments of the oil & gas industry
  • Develop and nurture industry relationships
  • Source and originate opportunities and transactions consistent with set out strategy and overall company objectives and values
  • Lead and execute transactions from sourcing to closing to integration
  • Manage a team of finance and business development professionals to develop processes for efficient and effective deal evaluation and due diligence
  • Research and analyze activity in the Company’s focus areas and possess ability to develop new relationships
  • Identify decision-makers and influencers in potential customer organizations and maintain those relationships
  • Lead cross functional teams across the organization to ensure comprehensive deal evaluation and execution
  • Lead financial analysis and modeling efforts to develop economic evaluations as well as scenario and sensitivity analyses
  • Provide expertise and knowledge around deal structure, financing options and legal oversight
  • Manage transaction review and approval process with Cureton Executive Management Team and Board of Managers
  • Lead integration initiatives post-closing to ensure appropriate value creation for the pro forma company
  • Assist in finance and corporate development subject matters on existing Cureton investments
  • Help develop strategy and vision across the broader organization as a part of the Cureton Leadership Team

Computer Skills

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must.  

Advanced financial modeling experience is a must.

Required Education & Experience

  • MBA or a similar advanced degree
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in North American energy.
  • Minimum (3) years in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate/Business Development role for an energy operating company

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Corporate or Business Development capacity in the midstream and downstream sectors of the energy industry
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in capital markets, and traditional and alternative debt and equity products

The Midstream Commercial Engineer is responsible for supporting the company in a commercial and technical role. This position’s primary focus will be on developing commercial estimates and hydraulics on existing systems and M&A projects. This position will work together with Cureton Commercial and Engineering teams to develop, interpret, and communicate new project requirements.

Essential job functions and responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with Cureton Commercial and Technical departments to develop new project design, hydraulics, and estimates
  • Manage internal communication around third party scheduled maintenance, throughput impacts, capacity constraints, etc.
  • Serve as liaison between Cureton technical, commercial, and operations along with third-party providers
  • Assist, as needed, in all Midstream and Marketing cross-function efforts including but not limited to. annual budgeting efforts, quarterly operations/financial review
  • Assist Commercial Team in the technical and commercial evaluation of assets for acquisitions, divestitures, and trades
  • Review physical assets, both third party and internal, to determine ways to optimize
  • Interact closely with third party service providers to ensure on-time connects of Cureton Producer wells and favorable pipeline hydraulics
  • Assist Cureton Operations and EHS, as needed, to ensure cooperation from third party service providers around all EHS and OSHA rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspects
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

The specific minimum competencies required for job performance:

  • Entrepreneur type with natural leadership abilities
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software preferably PIPER
  • Knowledge of financial planning & analysis and gathering and processing fundamentals including pipeline hydraulics and NGL recovery fundamentals
  • Ability and willingness to be available for Cureton Operations as needed
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiar with Midstream contracts
  • Ability to understand complex financial models
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • General knowledge of pipeline and facility operations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skill set
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate

Working Conditions

  • Consistent with that of a normal office environment
  • 10% travel can be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in Project Management or Commercial Engineering in a midstream role with an E&P or a midstream company
